Tamarisk, helpful to settlers, can be a pest in the long run
You can't kill it with drought. Fire only makes it stronger. Bury it in a sand dune and it thrives. Dig it out, and the roots come back with a vengeance.

Hot Tickets
Oct. 3: Dust off the Stetson for the 2008 Western Dance hosted by the Delta Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. at the North Florida Fairgrounds. The event features food, music, contests and dancing and is a fundraiser for the sorority's scholarship and community services funds.

Theater Review: "Susan and God" flirts with domestic games
