Warthogs Renamed the Dash
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The team formerly known as the Winston-Salem Warthogs have been renamed the Dash, a reference to the team's hyphenated home city, officials announced Thursday The team also unveiled its new mascot and is holding a contest to name it.

Hanesbrands Sale Shut Down After Code Violations Discovered
A Winston-Salem fire inspector who was checking the building where Hanesbrands Inc. was holding a large clothing sale forced the company to close the sale and evacuate the building, Deputy Fire Marshal Norm Mitchell told WXII12 News.

Salem family's stolen van found but gifts still missing
SALEM -- A van full of gifts stolen from a Salem family's driveway has been found, but the gifts were gone. The Anderson family van was parked in front of their South Salem home and filled with hundreds of dollars worth of clothes, toys and household goods that they had planned to donate.

Library scrambles after flood
West Salem?s Hazel Brown Leicht Memorial Library will open again this week after a frozen heating coil led to a flood that soaked the floor, destroyed several thousand books and forced a closing.

RibFest Moving From Downtown To Dixie Classic Fairgrounds
WINSTON-SALEM -- Folks in downtown Winston-Salem won't be smelling the sweet scent of barbeque sauce next summer. Organizers of the annual Twin City RibFest announced Thursday the event was being moved from the parking lot at First Presbyterian Church to the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds.

Hatteras Financial sets $1 dividend
