MoD to name dead soldier
A British soldier killed while on patrol in southern Afghanistan is expected to be named later. The soldier, from 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment, died when an improvised explosive device was triggered in Sangin, Helmand province. His next of kin have been informed.
