Former LT&T CEO Jim Geist passed away Sunday. His funeral is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday at First Plymough Congregational Church, 2000 D Street.

Jim Geist, 'CEO of the people,' dies at 78
He started with the local phone company in 1947, working in a shop. For almost 50 years, except for time spent with the Air Force, Jim Geist was a working man for the phone company known first as Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph, and as Lincoln Telecommunications Co. when he retired as CEO in 1993.

Rogers, Kuehne have been top performers for Stars' football squad
Holy Angels will attempt to get back on the winning track in Missota Conference football action this week. The Stars travel to Shakopee for a 7 p.m. game Friday, Oct. 3. Holy Angels is 1-4 overall and 1-3 in league play while the Sabers are 2-3 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
