U218 Singles is a greatest hits-style compilation album by the Irish rock band U2, released in November 2006. It contains eighteen songs: sixteen of their most successful singles, "The Saints Are Coming" (a cover version in collaboration with Green Day of a song by The Skids) and "Window in the Skies" (a new song). U218 Videos, a DVD featuring music videos from throughout U2's career, was released concurrently.
The album debuted on the Billboard 200 album chart on December 9, 2006 with sales of 134,000 copies. It spent 45 weeks on the chart. As of January 24, 2008[dated info], it has sold 847,490 copies in the US.[1]

No song from October, Zooropa, or Pop is included; Boy is also not represented, except in the form of a song included on the UK and Australian editions of the CD.[2] The 1995 U2/Brian Eno collaboration Original Soundtracks 1 is also not represented.
Variations
"I Will Follow" appears as a bonus track on UK and Australian editions of the CD.[3] The deluxe version in the UK, Ireland, Canada and U.S. iTunes Store also contains these live songs (with the exception of "Original of the Species") as audio tracks, as well as a digital booklet and a bonus track, "Smile," for those that pre-order the album. For the U.S. version, it does not come with a digital booklet, but instead with "Smile" as a bonus track even if it hasn't been pre-ordered.[4]
A limited edition version includes a live DVD featuring ten songs recorded on the Vertigo Tour in Milan.[5]

Vertigo: Live from Milan DVD
A bonus live DVD entitled Vertigo: Live from Milan is included in the deluxe edition of the U218 Singles. The DVD features a highlight of ten songs from the band's 25-song set[17] in Milan, Italy during the Vertigo Tour in 2005. On the iTunes Store deluxe edition of the album, these songs are featured as bonus audio tracks, except for "Original of the Species."
