Ballinteer St. Johns is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ballinteer, south Dublin, Republic of Ireland. The club was founded in May 1982 by Mick Wren, Tom Cosgrave and Maurice O Connell, under the name Ballinteer Gaels. The name was later changed to Ballinteer St Johns. The Club's crest is made up of Three Castles (Dublin Crest), The Eagle (Emblem of St John the Evangelist) and the Celtic Cross (GAA Emblem). For a club that was set up in 1982, huge progress has been made and a large clubhouse Áras Naomh Eoin was opened in 2003. The clubhouse is situated beside Marlay Park just off the Ballinteer bypass. Notable players include 2002 Dublin captain, Coman Goggins, Leinster U-21 winners, Keith Nolan, Kevin Davis, Jack Gilligan, Joey Maher and Ciarán Lane, former Dublin footballer Angie McNally. 2008 was the first year ever any Ballinteer St Johns team has been Represented at the All Ireland Feile na Ngael and Feile Peil Na Nog in Gaelic and Hurling. Donal Gormley captained both The U14 sides to the All-Irelands. The club's Under 21 football team won the 2008 Dublin C Championship, beating Naomh Mearnóg in the final, 1-10 to 0-7.
